Bride Breaks Silence After Deadly Crash

9:57:00 PM

Janatil Firdaws Yakubu, whose husband died untimely while on the way to a wedding reception at Africana Guest House near the Atomic Interchange in Accra, has finally broken her silence after being discharged from hospital.

The woman and the deceased, Disu Kamaru, were on their way to the wedding reception when the unfortunate incident occurred on Sunday, September 30, 2018, around 1:30pm.

The deceased died on the spot after a driver of a vehicle reportedly attempted to overtake another car, but lost control and rammed the Hyundai Fantasy of the couple, forcing it to crash into a tree.

The bride-turned widow, whose health deteriorated quickly within a few hours, was hospitalized.

After coming out of coma, she took to Facebook to eulogise the late husband within a matter of hours.

She posted If Allah permitted us to worship any human being on earth you (referring to husband) will be the first and last I will worship.
I am, indeed, the luckiest woman on earth to have such a unbelievable and God-fearing man.

She compared her husbands death to that of Prophet Mohammed, adding that whoever was worshipping Muhammad should know that Muhammad   died and whoever was worshipping God should know that God is living and never dies.

In the post, she said, And Muhammad is but a Messenger. The Messengers before him passed away. Should you turn on your heels if he will die or be killed And whoever turns on his heels will not harm God in the least. And God will reward the thankful, so far as Allah lives, she hopes.

Janatil Firdaws Yakubus post has attracted comments from several well-wishers who have praised her for the bravery.

It would be recalled that a joyful wedding reception at Madina, a suburb of Accra, turned sorrowful following a tragic accident which claimed the life of the bridegroom a week ago.

Tears flowed at the venue after news broke that the bridegroom, Disu Kamaru, had died in a car accident en route to the venue on what could have been the happiest day of his life.

Information gathered by DAILY GUIDE indicates that they initially held the Islamic marriage ceremony in Takoradi where Islamic clerics performed the necessary rites to cement the marriage.

Family sources revealed that the two love birds successfully tied the nuptial knot in Takoradi in the Western Region but decided to have the party in Accra.

After the accident, Disu Kamaru was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The deceased, who was a Muslim, was buried the next day after Islamic rites were performed at the Madina Cemetery.
