Proprietor Arrested For Duping BECE Candidates In Tamale

4:29:00 PM

Prince Sulemana Saeed, 28, headmaster of Prince of Peace International School in Tamale, has been arrested for failing to register students of the school for the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Saeed reportedly charged each of the 151 students of the school GH₵100 for the registration, amounting to GH₵15,100.

The suspect reportedly registered 75 out of 151 candidates.

The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Mohammed Yusuf Tanko, who confirmed the arrest to DAILY GUIDE, said the headmaster is currently in police custody assisting in police investigations.

He urged parents and students of the school to remain quiet and provide the police with information to speed up the investigations.

The paper gathered that the headmaster did not register the students, especially the female students, because they refused to have sex with him.

Some of the affected students alleged that Prince Sulemana Saeed issued fake index numbers to some of the 151 students of the school who rejected his sexual advances but issued authentic index numbers to students of a different school.

I am not the only one, he has forced most of the girls to have sex with him, sometimes he tells you to come to his house, but we refuse to go.

The mad students have called on the Minister of Education, Matthew Opuku Prempeh and authorities of Ghana Education Service (GES) and WAEC to immediately stop students registered for the BECE in the name of Prince of Peace International School from writing the exams.

We dont need the money again, all we want is to write our final exams because its our life.
