5:32:00 AM

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to depart Togo for Burkina Faso today, Thursday, 4 May, as part of the first phase of his tour of countries in the ECOWAS sub-region.

Mr Akufo-Addos tour began with a trip to Togo on 2 May where he sought to deepen Ghanas bilateral relations with Togo, introduced himself as the new Ghanaian leader, and also interacted with the Ghanaian community there.

In similar fashion, his visit to Burkina Faso is also aimed at deepening Ghanas bilateral relations with the Francophone country and also to reiterate Ghanas full commitment to the ECOWAS project.

Mr Akufo-Addo will leave Burkina Faso tomorrow 5 May for Cote dIvoire where he will stay until 7 May to end the first phase of his ECOWAS tour in the month of May.

The second phase will see him visit Nigeria, Senegal, Guinea, Benin, Cape Verde, and, finally, to Liberia and Sierra Leone.
