Stop Sharing Horrible Images Of Captain Mahama – Family

11:16:00 PM

The Family of the late Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama has advised the public to desist from circulating the horrid images of the deceased Soldier online.

They say theyre appalled to see the public sharing the gory images of their son irrespective of the disturbing story behind his death.

I will like to appeal to all those that are distributing those images on the internet, on web phones; Please be considerate! And I will also like to say that, you know there was a time when I was growing up as a kid, we will go hunting, well pass through villages and in every village we got to women will come out from their homes and give us water, mashed kenkey. We were everybodys children. And its unfortunate to see some of those images where these people who were once mothers to us are setting us on fire, the deceaseds Uncle, Fred Magniduri told host Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM.

Meanwhile the body of the late Captain has been conveyed to Accra. It was flown in by the Ghana Air Force on Tuesday evening.

The army officer was lynched by residents of Denkyira Boase in the Central region.

The residents at the behest of their Assembly member on Monday assaulted Captain Maxwell Mahama on suspicion of being a robber.

He was a military officer with the 5th Infantry Batallion (5BN) at Burma Camp in Accra.

Captain Mahama who is the commander of the area military detachment, according to his subordinates, was seen jogging along the main road and as he stopped by to query some women for directions â€" the women saw a pistol on him.

The women who were alarmed after spotting the pistol mistook him for an armed robber thereby alerting their assembly member who allegedly organised some men to lynch him after which they burnt the body.

The womens action is said to have been influenced by recent robbery attacks in the area with a recent one being a day before.

The military officer who was not in uniform when the incident happened is said to have pleaded with the mob not to lynch him indicating he was an army officer and not a criminal, but his plea was not taken by the mob who hit him with several objects including cement blocks.
